It was a windy and increasingly cloudy day, in Monte Carlo, with only little sunny periods. With ripped jeans and a ring in my nose, I was an alien for the surrounding regards. The empty pockets of my jacket were forgiven by the sanitary crisis due to the covid, that for once, made me forget how poor I was. I allowed my steps to walk me through the park, right in front of the famous Monacan casino.
« Nature belongs to everyone », I thought. « The light that printed itself on my retina, the buildings, the sea crashing into the rocks, all of that can be mine too. » The best show I ever saw in the principality.
Then I came across this carousel. I don't know why I have always been fascinated by them merry-go-rounds. There is just something magical about them, a fairy-tale kind of feeling.
That particular day, the lights were stunning in the grey background. As if the colors were splashing the city as it was spinning around.
My eyes were caught by a man and a kid, on for a ride. Probably a father and his son, but who knows. The little boy seemed quite happy and excited, yet the man was in a curious, quite interesting posture. If only I could've captured his regard. We can't really tell if he's focusing on the little kid, with love or nostalgia, or looking in another direction, miles away. Happiness, sadness, melancholia, I like the way this picture can tell the story you want it to tell. I any chosen alternative, these two people have a very dramatic way of occupying the space.

I really like your way of interpreting and describing the scene of this picture, we feel a great emotion. The carousel is a wonderful childhood memory, this photo brings comfort and joy during this sad time that we are experiencing because of the coronavirus. This photo lights up my heart and makes me nostalgic for my childhood. Adults are big kids ! 🦄
I look forward to reading the next articles on your blog.
This picture really brought me back to my childhood and the story behind it is really interesting. I tend to observe people and make my own reflection and it's very interesting to see that your text is also about your own reflection on the things and people you observe. It was a pleasing reading for me, can't wait to see more posts!
