Cyclist on the dam

That day was a sunny day, but it had rained heavily the day before. I went out running by the river, to go outdoor and enjoy the delicate caress of the sunlight.

But the muddy ground and the sludge outpoured on the riverbed witnessed the dreadful weather from the past few days. The sluices controlling the flow of water were crying out their memories of rainy days into the river.

Suddenly I saw this man on his bike. He was on the opposite shore, wanting to cross over. The bridge, or should we say, the concrete crossing, was pretty much flooded. So here he was, immobile, staring at the water flowing over, wondering what to do. It's just as if I could read into his mind : « shall I or shall I not », seemed to be the words rattling in his head. I stopped and stared. He stayed there quite a while, and suddenly, he hopped onto his bike like a rider would jump onto his horse. It was beautiful to see fear flying away, it was as if we could seas it in the air, freeing the man. As he was coming towards the other edge, his bike drew stunning patterns in the water. The beautiful design of fearless motion.

The quality of this picture isn't really good, but how much do I like watching it and remembering how sometimes you just have to cross over, no matter how scared you are to just take the step.
